Hi there,

My name is Mitch Smith, the ASHRAE Manitoba Chapter President for the 2024-2025 Society year. I’ve been participating in the chapter operations for a few years now, largely as Chapter Treasurer. My goal to take some of the efficiency measures I learned and used in balancing our books, to the rest of the board and our chapter members, to make participation in ASHRAE, either as contributing board members or professionals at large, an easier experience.

We’ve already had some exciting events this year including a technical tour and a Distinguished Lecturer (DL) visit, with more yet to come! In February, we will have a visit from this year’s ASHRAE Society president, Dennis Knight P.E. We’re hoping to wrap up the year with a short seminar on fire dampers, along with a chance for a second DL. Overall, a lot of great content! I hope to see you at one of meetings this year!
